Upon graduating college, Jill taught grades 1-3 for 12 years. During that same time, Jill also worked for specialty stores painting personalized gifts for all ages including children’s bedroom furniture, accessories, and clothing! In 1994 while married with two children ages five and two, Jill had the dream of opening her very own art studio in Solon, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio where she lived.
For seven years, Jill ran Young at Art, a creative art studio for children ages 2-10. Young at Art attracted kids from all surrounding suburbs where Jill taught weekly classes and hosted weekend birthday parties! Jill has continued over the last 15 years teaching art and ceramics to children, and she currently teaches after school art classes and camps at the Jewish Community Center in Beachwood Ohio.
For 32 years Jodi has taught art to children in Pre-k-5th grade at an elementary school in Houston, Texas. During that time, she has also directed winter and summer art camps and led several teacher professional development workshops.
When not teaching children, Jodi loves spending time creating her own art. She has a passion for hand lettering and calligraphy and has spent many hours hand addressing wedding invitations and place cards for special events. Jodi also enjoys creating hand painted gifts for new babies, children, and families. One of the most rewarding experiences for Jodi was the opportunity to illustrate a children’s book, Lollipup and Luvable, that was published in 2007.
When not doing art, Jodi loves spending time with her five beautiful grandchildren, four of which live in Houston, and one in Chicago. Jodi is a strong believer of the importance of art in education and is looking forward to inspiring many more children to love and appreciate art as much as she does!
